Ok, fresh post as my previous has had no response from Virgin Media.
I managed to get in contact with Virgin media via their message service last week and a technician came out and apparently they fixed my internet. Not the case, still horrible latency in all games.
Technician replaced the leads in my house and adjusted upload/ download power levels (not sure what that means).
Any further help would be appreciated.

has anyone had any luck using these forums? and/ or with Virgin Media fixing latency issues?
