High Ping/Latency

I've recently brought a new gaming pc, from the go I've been having the same lagging and high ping as i had on my old console  (latency 110ms packet loss of 66% when checked on the ip address) . I have the 350mb bb connected by cat 8 ethernet cable I'm the only person who uses it. I have done the usual checks as I've looked at the forums before hand even spoke with the faults department no help unless it concerns slow speeds or cant connect.

can a forum mod please help and get me an appointment for a technician with the correct skills to solve my issue please this is getting beyond a joke.

my thanks and gratitude in advance for any help

Re: High Ping/Latency

Staff can't book a technician visit unless there's evidence of a fault.  Setup a BQM over at https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality that'll show what's going on with your VM connection.  Post a link to a live, shared graph here and we'll see what's happening.  Usually needs to run for 24 hours before we can draw reasonable conclusions, but the live graph will continuously update so you can post that immediately.

Re: High Ping/Latency

BQM hasn't been published because it shows your IP address - you need to use the "share" option in Thinkbroadband to prevent that.  I can preview it though, and it shows a connection that was generally clean, but had a one hour period of very poor latency prior to midnight, and a reboot or complete loss of connection about 9:40am.

Connect to the hub by clicking on this link http://192.168.0.1/  That should pull up the log in page for the hub.  But don't log in, just click on the link "Check router status"  That'll bring up a window with five tabs.  Open the Downstream tab.  Select all the text (Ctrl-A if using a keyboard), copy it (Ctrl-C), then paste it (Ctrl-V) into a reply here as text not screenshots.  Post that, do the same for the Upstream and Network log.  You'll get an error message when you post the Network log, just click on "post" a second time.

Then we can check for any obvious problems with power, noise or error counts.

Re: High Ping/Latency

PING  (): 64 data bytes
72 bytes from : seq=0 ttl=64 time=130.000 ms
---  ping statistics ---
3 packets transmitted, 1 packets received, 66% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 130.000/130.000/130.000 ms
