High Latency

Hi All,

As per previous threads I have been having high latency when gaming for a while now - which is becoming increasingly frustrating. I'm currently on M350 Fibre.

Doing a speed test on the line gives me 340 Mbps DL and 21.7 Mbps UL so speeds are fine but the latency is the big issue. When I contacted virgin they said nothing was wrong on the line and it might be my ethernet cable that's the issue (It isn't this as Think Broadband monitor is giving me these spikes when my PC is off). (The large loss outage is resetting router yesterday in desperation!)

Images above are over the past 2 days which Virgin didn't detect when they tested the line. I'm guessing by the times of the latency that my area is simply overwhelmed by users so in reality there is no real fix for this? They have told me if it persists they will send someone out to inspect my equipment.

Any suggestions would be appreciated otherwise I will move my business elsewhere I guess!

Thanks.

Re: High Latency

I tried switching to modem mode to see if it was a router issue but the same latency so gone back to normal router mode.

Is anyone able to tell me if my area is over subscribed?

Thanks

Re: High Latency

Considering it's perfect from 10pm till 8am I'd say yes.

But it might improve when WFH stops and people go back into their offices.
