So for the past few days, I have been having big Latency issues, I hoped it passed but it remained the same. This is most noticeable when playing games. It became unplayable.
Would be happy if you could help to fix this so we can pass the time a bit quicker these days.
Here is my info I gathered:
- Hub 3.0 // version: 9.1.1811.401
- My DL speed (speetest) is roughly 180 and upload 10. I have the 200mbit plan from VM. So no problem here so far.
- I have tried to use my Netduma r1 router and have tried it just with the virgin media router but no difference depending on the router I use.
- when I ping google in terminal it takes roughly 340 ms and used to be 20 ms just a month or so ago.

Welcome to the high latency club.
Here is my graph so far. As you see its very very unstable.
Could somebody have a close look at why I have so many lag spikes and latency problems?
Literally anything is unplayable even at the non peak hours
Just called 0800 561 0061 to check service status in my area.
They say that there is none.
I'm pretty sure this all is due to covid-19 but wonder if there is anything VM can do about this.
My 2nd engineer visot has now managed to write gaming off completely. Videos stutter aswell! Virgin dont care they think 100mb is just for email n facebook
See my post matey.
All the answers you need!
It's definitely Covid 19 and over subscription.
Surely they must be able to prioritize some users in order to have less latency related problems? Or have some sort of solution for this?
I have just recorded how it looks like when I try to play any game for the past week now...
Video with family or working on a remote desktop for work is also very bad.
Perhaps this shows better of how bad it currently is. https://youtu.be/EOAepTMXBzY
Hope somebody can help.
