Disconnecting from Guild Wars 2

Hi there

I have read quite a few posts with this issue and now I have it

I have ran the Guild Wars 2 test program which identified massive packet loss. 

 

I started to lok into how people have resolved this issue. The vast majority of people resorted to using a VPN so that's what I did. Since I used a VPN the problem has gone away. I don't like paying for fixes which should have been seen to by Virgin years ago. Also a VPN makes your overall ping slightly higher.

 

So I hve been gaming on GW2 for a few days with VPN and no problems. I tried gaming WITHOUT the VPN and exactly the same disconnect issue is back. I fird up the VPN and the very specific issue went away.

 

So my question is twofold really. 

 

1. Can this be fixed? the only variable is that I am now not using the Virgin network.

2. Is the fix for this being actively worked on by Virgin?

 

If it is being worked on then where can I track the progress of this please?

Maybe there is a UDP problem with router mode?

Put the hub in modem mode with a wired device test your gaming like that.

So I already tried that

 

I also rebooted hub

I turned off flooding to see if it was that

All relevant ports are open

Upstream/downstream are ok

 

When I try to ping the gw2 servers there are a lot of timeouts

Really sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with Packet loss. 

 

I would love to have some more data from your side, are you able to set up a BQM here and I can have a closure look? 

 

You can either provide screenshots or a live link to the results and we would advise to let it run for 24 hours.

Yes I have the quality monitor set up now. I will try to insert it into my sig if I can?

 

That seemed to have worked. As you can see it's never lower than Maximum

Well this is now happening with Elder Scrolls Online as well. Both mine and my wifes pc's lag spikes to 999+ I suffered for over an hour then went through VPN and stable 100-150ms went back to Virgin network and Lag all over the place. What is going on with Virgin's net? I cannot continue my relationship with Virgin like this. Looks like back to BT net I go damn shame really
