Crazy ping spikes for the past week

Hub 3

I've been getting crazy spikes for about a week now in both Fifa and Valorant, the actual internet speed is fine but games are literally unplayable. Any ideas how to get this sorted out?

All the hub status data is good - power levels, SNR, modulation, timeouts, network log entries they're all what we;d expect to see on a working connection.  Which leaves two main possibilities that come to my mind:

1) Capacity and performance issues with the gaming servers or gaming packet routing across the interent.  With Christmas and recent releases this is entirely possible.

2) Over-utilisation on VM's network round you, or a network SNR fault.  That's equally possible, but I would have thought you'd have seen problems before, rather than suddenly cropping up in the last two weeks?

If you set up a BQM, then post a link to a shared, live graph then we'll be able to see if it is a VM network problem (once there's a full 24 hour data plot).  If it is a network fault then it will get fixed.  If it's over-utilisation then as a general rule it won't, but we can worry about the options as and when we know what the score is.

From the graph it looks like what Andruser said - To his second point!

Looks as though its over utlisation within your area - the evidence is the traffic per peak times.

Also the combination of busy game servers doesnt help. Do you exprierence lag spikes after midnight?

It actually seems like the graph only goes down once my PC gets turned off, then peaks again once its on. Now I'm not sure if it's just coincidence or if the BQM monitors other devices too, but it's weird. 

And yes, I do get occasional spikes at around 1-2AM aswell.

Im assuming you're playing Fiffa on PC?

Hub 3 is not a very good router for gaming to be honest - If your happy with the connection speed i would invest in a router and use the hub 3 in Modem mode.

Yes, I'm on PC, with ethernet cable. Never had any problems with the hub 3 until just recently, so I'm hoping that it's fixable on Virgins end.
