Constant hardwire problems

I've been having issues for over 3 weeks now where the Hub needs to be restarted twice a day after it loses connection.

It is usually every 12 hours. Around midday and midnight that it happens.

My network is usually as follows

Super Hub - All Ethernet ports used.

Bridge in place for WiFi connection - This also feeds to a switch that gives wired connections to the downstairs equipment.

Anyway, I've stripped all that away and just have my desktop computer connected via a brand new Ethernet cable. No other devices hard wired or wireless are connected.

I've had the hub in and out of modem mode and the issue still persists.

I've had to hard reset the hub on multiple occasions to get broadband for 30min plus before it drops off again.

The hub is connected directly to a wall socket, no extension.

The wire has been unscrewed and tightly re-applied on both ends.

I'm at my wits end trying to get this sorted. I dont want to move providers but at this rate I feel I'd be better off sacrificing speed for reliability.

As the network logs have been wiped after the reset I'll paste again in the morning with any updates.

upstream levels are out of spec - you need an engineer visit which you can either phone in or wait for VM to review on here which could take a few days

I've arranged an engineer for tomorrow. Its the 4th time I've had someone out so hoping someone replies on here also.

Had a visit from an engineer who "couldnt find anything"

She replaced some wiring adaptors and said to monitor. No less than 36 hours later we're back at it again.

Two power restarts of the hub did not get me back online.

I had to do a factory reset.

Will leave it over night and check if there are any  more drops.

I've cancelled my virgin contract for now and will monitor, no one takes these issues seriously. 

They send under qualified engineers who dont check anything but what their app tells them.

Its absolutely exhausting to deal with people on the phone who are just as clueless

Yes, as Tony said your Upstream is still way out of spec.   I can't understand how an engineer would have said this is okay?  Maybe the Mods will pick this up and get it sorted.

Anyway, if you are leaving VM I hope you fair better with your next ISP.
