Constant disconnects from World of Warcraft Classic

For the past year i've had issues with regular disconnections in this game - there's no loss of internet, just get booted to login and can go right back in. I've noticed the same issue with other games, but not as frequent or regular as the issues with wow classic in particular.

There seems to be quite a lot of threads already on this topic, but i'm hesitant to try using a 3rd party router or vpn if i don't have to. Also tried using the online help through virgin media, and calling, but i can't seem to get to speak to anyone about the actual issue - it's just asking me to reset the router and directing me back to the help page.

Re: Constant disconnects from World of Warcraft Classic

Thanks - I haven't tried port forwarding, but i would be hesitant to do so without a vpn.

Re: Constant disconnects from World of Warcraft Classic

Looking at the hub stats you posted, VM staff will tell you all looks fine (and they might be right).  I note that your post-RS errors are high and might indicate something, but only if they are rising each day.  I suggest you setup a BQM over at https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality that'll show if there's anything unusual going on with your VM connection.  Post a LINK to a LIVE, SHARED graph here and we'll see what's happening.  Usually needs to run for 24 hours before we can draw reasonable conclusions, but the live graph will continuously update so you can post the link immediately.

Might also help if you post the data from your network log (as text, not images, and just press "post" again when you see an "invalid HTML" error message.

Re: Constant disconnects from World of Warcraft Classic

Nothing obvious in the network log.  The BQM is showing 100% packet loss, meaning that the hub is not responding to ICMP requests from the Thinkbroadband test servers.   I assume the hub was switched on overnight?  So long since I had a Superhub 2 that I can't recall if there's an ICMP on/off setting, but that's the first thing to check, along with the BQM settings being for your current IP address, although on a newly setup BQM that's rarely a problem.

Re: Constant disconnects from World of Warcraft Classic

Tried enabling the hub to respond to ICMP a couple of days ago, but there doesn't seem to have been any change in the graph. It's definitely on the correct IP & we always leave the hub on.
