I'm trying to retrieve a forgotten password but the verification email never arrives. I've looked in the junk folder. I have a broadband only account.

Some genuine emails do fail the technical checks that VM have in place for all incoming emails. The emails that go missing often seem to be emails from companies sent using third party email marketing tools and transactional emails such as password resets or confirmation of online orders often seem to be affected.

However, just to be sure, you should check that these emails are not being filtered away from your inbox by a filter rule in your webmail account. Filter rules can have unintended and unexpected consequences. Sign into your webmail account, click the cogwheel icon and select Settings > Email > Filter Rules. If you have any filters set you should disable them for the time being and initiate a new reset message to see whether that arrives.

If there are no filter rules set up then it does suggest that VM are blocking those emails for some reason. Sadly, experience suggests that getting the situation resolved by VM is never easy and often impossible without some help from the sending organisation.

It would be worth checking with them whether they get any error messages from VM when they send you a password reset email.

In reality, the quickest solution may be to investigate whether there are other ways of getting this password reset.

In most cases the long term solution is to use a non VM email address in conjunction with your online accounts.

Sorry to sound negative but I am just relaying the experience of many other posters.

Thanks for the advice coenoby, unfortunately none of this has worked. There were filters on my emails but removing them made no difference. Setting up an account with a different email didn't work either as I was just taken back to my original account after entering details. Would be good if someone from Virgin could advise.
