mail.virgin.net Not trusted

We're getting a pop up every 20 seconds or so on various apple devices stating that the mail.virgin.net server is not trusted.  Is there any way of resolving this issue?

Re: mail.virgin.net Not trusted

That server has not been the recommended setting for some years.

Re: mail.virgin.net Not trusted

Many thanks Graham.  Updated POP email to IMAP using the below settings and all appears sorted.  Thanks once again.

Re: mail.virgin.net Not trusted

@Graham_A

Wow using that hostname for POP3 must date back a bit.  I did a check and the server certificate expired this afternoon.

depth=0 C = GB, OU = Domain Control Validated, CN = mail.virgin.net
verify error:num=10:certificate has expired
notAfter=Apr 23 14:28:37 2021 GMT

We might see a few more of these.

Well spotted

Tim

Re: mail.virgin.net Not trusted

Hi Graham

Thanks so much for your reply to the previous poster’s query. I am having the same problem.
I managed to update the outgoing mail host server name ok by when I put the imap.virginmedia.net host name into the incoming mail server (replacing mail.virgin.net), it comes back immediately saying ‘username and password are incorrect’.
I wondered if you could help?

Many many thanks for your invaluable advice.

Re: mail.virgin.net Not trusted

@WiAB It should be imap.virginmedia.com not .net

Re: mail.virgin.net Not trusted

Thank you, that was a typo on my part - hadn’t put .net but .com.

Fixed it now, just had to reset and sync passwords from main computer and phone.
Thank you
