email account not working

Could a moderator on this forum please find out why my email account has not worked for two months. 

I have called and called customer services, waited 45 minutes to 1.25 hours to answer and then got no-where.

are you still a virgin media broadband customer and is the emails account attached to your current account

SO when did you get your email address.

You must have a broadband account to keep your email. It may well be in the process of being deleted

That is the answer then.

A Virginmedia broadband account is required for continued access to VM email accounts.

The days of free (apart from the call charges) dial up accounts are long gone.

 It was one of the original virgin.net emails that I have had for about 15 years without a problem. How can they just DELETE it without any notification.

This has caused so many problems

it was part of the T&C. it should of been deleted when you left the service. Depending on what server you had when you got the email depends on what the terms were. But you agreed to them (including losing the email) when you signed up

Hmmm, the only thing I ever got from Virgin was the email address (for free back then) , never signed up for any other services, so I have not left anything as such that would have terminated my email.

then you had no agreement with VM to host your email.
you've had free email for 15 years paid for by paying customers you did well.

I recommend a free email not linked to any ISP like Gmail, outlook.com or hotmail.com

You are right that you didn't leave of your choice,  however Virgin Media closed that particular service down some years ago.

Unfortunately some email addresses remained active, but these are gradually being identified and closed down.
