Re: deleted emails

Hello

I am afraid that in Window mail it is not possible to use that setting it doesn't exist, are you using the pop3 email settings.

Re: deleted emails

No email client cannot delete retrieved emails via POP3 from the server due to its non-standard behaviour, read more here POP3 Behaviour

In Mail can you confirm your setting by:

  • select
  • under Setting, select Manage accounts
  • select your Virgin Media account
  • select Option for syncing your content.
  • scroll down to Advanced mailbox settings and select Incoming and outgoing mail server info
  • under Incoming email server what value do you see?

Re: deleted emails

When using POP3 Mail simply downloads any new message in the Inbox whereas IMAP synchronise the whole mailbox (Inbox, Sent, etc) between the server and mail client Mail; with IMAP any change made in Mail is synchronised to the server, for example if you delete a message in Mail it goes to the Trash and that change also occurs on the server.

You can choose to either continue using IMAP and just remember that actions in Mail are reflected on the server or replace it with a POP3 setup; if you wish to do the latter then post back here for further help.

The highlighted tag indicates below the action required in Mail:
