Your mailbox is not available at the moment.

I have been sending and receiving emails without issue until this afternoon when I suddenly received an email connection issue, namely I am now unable to send or receive emails and that my password is not recognised, even though it has not changed.  I tried to connect to my email directly through the Virgin Media portal which gave me the following message.  I am unable to change the password as the message suggests, because I cannot access anything.  Could somebody please help.

Or you may not have an active mail account with us.

If you have an existing Virgin Media mailbox please try changing your password in the first instance as this may unlock the account following a security precaution taken by our email team.
