Hey Ke1z,

Welcome to the community and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums.

What happened with your email account, did you leave Virgin Media and return to us or are you having issues with accessing your mailbox? If your services have been disconnected, we wouldn't be able to re-activate your mailbox, even if you have returned to Virgin Media.

Are you currently an active Virgin Media broadband customer?

Kind Regards,

Hi, please can you deactivate my old virginmedia.com email account. It was removed when I switched to sky but I am now back with VM under an iCloud email address.
Not really sure why it was removed in the first place as my husband was able to keep his.

Can someone please PM me to arrange this?

One  of the Forum Team will be contacting you via this forum in the next day or so to let you know about that.

However, sadly, I think you are unlikely to regain use of that email address.

The reason I say that is that VM's broadband terms and conditions have always specified that 90 days after a VM broadband account is terminated, VM will delete all email accounts linked to it. If that is what has happened to this email account then there is no way it can be reactivated.

In truth though, it seems that in the  past VM often did not get around to that and old email accounts did linger on for years so it is just possible that this email account does still exist in a state of limbo.

However, there is a bigger picture and context to this.

VM stopped issuing new VM email accounts over a year ago. Since then customers opening a new VM broadband contract do not get the option to use a VM email account and existing customers no longer have the option to create additional / secondary VM email accounts.

At the moment the whole future of the VM email service is unknown but clearly VM no longer sees the provision of an email service for their broadband customers as part of their business plan.

As a result I think it is unlikely that VM will be willing, or indeed able, to reactivate your old email account.

If you do need a new email account then there are plenty of free options available. In all honesty  you would be better going with one of them even if it is possible for VM to resuscitate your old VM email account. See here for some excellent options.  https://www.lifewire.com/best-free-email-accounts
