Hi, it seems I (like MANY more people) am now having issues with my virgin.net email address.
The SMTP outbound seems to work, (I even get new mail notifications on my iphone) but I cannot read any as the IMAP inbound connection does not work.
I have reset my password (several times) and am able to login into the MYVIRGINMEDIA account (even though I no longer have any broadband connection with VM and have not had one for MANY, MANY years - old dial-up), the email has continued to be my primary means of email for decades.
That until earlier this week when it suddenly stops with no warning.
I have spoken to several agents on the service desk, was promised a call back (That never happened) and have been trawling these forums for any clues of how to fix this.
It sounds like the only way to get it done is for one of the Forum Admins to contact your IT dept and ask them to re-enable my account.
I am afraid that unless you have a current Virginmedia Broadband then your email address virgin.net is classed as an orphan and could be deleted at any time, normally they would be deleted after 90 days of last use of the dial up service.
That could be right, but had I known I could have had many years of free service with Microsoft, google, Apple, or some other service provider who would be unlikely to just cut me off with no notice (but still leave other email address associated with the exact same account still active??)
But then, I’m just looking for some positive assistance for this. If, as you say, nothing can be done by yourself then I’ll see if someone else can possibly help. Thank you for your contribution. goodbye.
