Username password not recognised after reCAPTCHA

I can not sign on to virginmedia.com nor mail.virginmedia.com 

I know the userid and password are correct from the vault and I can access from the vault with no sign in dialogue. The sign in dialogue presents a reCAPTCHA screen and, despite ticking correctly, it always returns “We didn't recognise the username or password you entered. Please try again.”.

Same on different platforms and browsers.

Once got a message saying unable to connect to reCAPTCHA server...

Is there a problem? When will it be fixed?

Hi luddite0, thanks for getting in touch - apologies for the delayed response, and the problems you've had signing in.

 

As far as I'm aware there's no wider issues with recaptcha on the website, I'm sorry I'm not sure what you mean by 'the vault'. 

 

If it's still a problem for you now - have you been able to try following the password-reset process to see if that helps? PLease keep us posted with how you're getting on now.

You're right.  reCAPTCHA was a red herring...  IMAP didn't work either.

I seem to have managed to fix it by signing in to virginmedia.com first ...
