Username change verification email link expired

I am trying to change my email address via account details.  I received the email to the new email address but when i click on the 'verify email address ' link it says the link has expired.  When i the go back to account details to try and change the username email address again it wont let me as it says you have already tried to change and to click the link to verify the email.

I am stuck in a loop which wont let me change my account username email address..

A workaround for this issue is to:

  • submit a different Sign in Email Address
    For example, test@example.com —in this case there is no server running for the message to be delivered to, i.e. mail delivery fails and is returned to sender.
  • then immediately resubmit the original Sign in Email Address and this time keep the page open until you receive the verification link email
