Did something change yesterday afternoon?

I can no longer send/receive email using OE Classis Pro 3.1.The error message suggests password issues. I can access web mail.

Re: Unable to send/receive mail using OE Classic client

Nothing changed yesterday afternoon. Very useful to see the logs and the VM3xx error code. Are you a VM broadband customer and is the virgin.net address linked to a current paid for VM broadband account?

@christine67, with urgency, change your disclosed password.

FYI: moderators have redacted your disclosed email address and password.

Re: Unable to send/receive mail using OE Classic client

I moved the entire thread out of the general email section and alerted the mods who have removed the offending lines and reinstated the thread.

@christine67 in your original post you included lines which start AUTH and then have what looks like a random string of characters, in actual fact these are your username (email address) and email password in easily readable format (if you recognise what it is and how to decode it - note that I said decode not decrypt, the two are often mistaken as meaning the same thing). Your post was visible for about 45 min before I moved it so it's probably not likely that anyone spotted it with malicious intent but best not to take the chance. You need to change your email password immediately and also on any other site where you use the same password.

Now that ypu've sorted out the confidentiality issue (whic I should have spotted too) would you like to answer my question as well so we can try and advise what is wrong and what can be done to sort it?

Re: Unable to send/receive mail using OE Classic client

I've sorted it!

I decided to create a new account in OE Classic (client) and then deleted the old one.

I still have no idea what caused the original problem.

Thank you everybody.

I have. It is likely that the password servers went out of sync. Glad you sorted it though.
