Transferring email account

Hi

I am moving abroad and therefore will no longer have a virgin media account. My current email is an ntlworld.com one

My preference would be to transfer this over to my hotmail account, but if that option isn’t available, I have a gmail account that it could be switched to.

I have no idea how I start with this. How do I go about changing this but keeping my old emails?

Also, once this is done, do I need to go through every single account I’ve made on other websites with my ntlworld email, and change it to a different one?

It would be difficult for me to get access to a laptop, so ideally if it’s possible on my iPhone or iPad, that would be even better. But if not and I have to borrow a laptop to do it, I am able to.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Re: Transferring email account

Hello

I am afraid that moving an email address to another provider is physically not possible, you can export all your emails from VM and import them into hotmail, but after closing the account normally the email address will close after 90 days, too allow you time to inform everybody of the change of email address and change any website that uses that email address, so yes you will have to change every website.

And also have a loook at https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Forum-Archive/Backing-up-your-Emails-One-of-many-solutions/m-p/... to allow to backup you emails and then you can import them.

Regards Mike
