Synchronization Log

I thought I'd asked this before but can't find it.

Why do I keep getting these error emails about email synchronization:

17:16:49 Synchronizer Version 16.0.11929.20048
17:16:49 Synchronizing Mailbox 'xxxxxx@virginmedia.com'
17:18:16 Terminated in error
17:18:16 [800CCC0F-0-0-940]

Anyone know or can tell me what they mean, I've had about 20 today on my 3 virgin addees?

Re: Synchronization Log

Thanks Graham, I wish I was as clever as you, I did put it in the search box.
That doesn't give an answer so maybe I will be lucky this time.

Re: Synchronization Log

Nothing clever at all.  If you click on your own forum name you will see a list of all the posts you have made on here.

As to the specific question re the logs I'm afraid I don't no the answer.  Others may do.

Re: Synchronization Log

What antivirus software are you running?

Assuming that's a Microsoft error 800CCC0F usually means that the connection to the server was dropped unexpectedly.

I know that some A/V software has been known to cause this.

That link seems to go straight back to this thread, that's where it takes me anyway.

I presume you really meant this thread https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Tech-Chatter/Synchronizing/td-p/4430255  You do get about a lot don't you? 😃

I see from that thread that you have "sorted" the problem by switching to using POP3 instead of IMAP. Are you happy with that or are you still looking for a solution that will enable you to continue to use IMAP?

Re: Synchronization Log

Sorry about that, have changed the link to the correct one now.

Can you copy / paste your post into the latest one.

I only get about a lot as I'm almost 80 and things get more difficult as you get older I'm afraid.

I did look for the older threads but they didn't come up in a search and I didn't know about clicking on my username.

Pop3 is the old method of email and I prefer imap so changing to pop3 was just a tester.  Now I have deleted all my old emails I have returned to imap.
