Server passwords issue

I mistakenly tried to change my IMAP and SMTP passwords & cannot now send or receive emails. I cannot remember the original passwords. How can I resolve this situation?

Re: Server passwords issue

Hello

Is this the primary or secondary email address.

On this webpage https://mobile.virginmedia.com/ecare/login

There is reset password box.

Regards Mike

Re: Server passwords issue

Many thanks, but my issue relates to email and I do not have a Virgin Mobile account.

Re: Server passwords issue

FYI: What do I do if I’ve forgotten my Virgin Media username and password?

Thank you - unfortunately this does not cover IMAP and SMTP passwords.

The IMAP and SMTP passwords will be the same as the password for the email account concerned.  They cannot be different.

Re: Server passwords issue

Where exactly did you try to change your IMAP and SMTP passwords? Was it through your My Virgin Media account or only from within your email client?

Are you still able to access your My Virgin Media account?

If not you can reset your My Virgin Media password from here: https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-media-reset-username-and-password

Once you have access to your My Virgin Media account you will be able to change your email passwords as previously noted.

Re: Server passwords issue

I incorrectly overwrote the IMAP and SMTP passwords in settings on my iPad. This effectively deleted the passwords. As I have no note or memory of those passwords I have been unable to reinstate them and therefore cannot send or receive emails on my iPad or my iPhone.

I do have access to my Virgin Media account and, as you say, this enable me to change my email password and my Virginmedia password. It does not show me how I can change my IMAP and SMTP passwords in my iPad or iPhone settings.

Perhaps this is a question for Apple, not Virginmedia?
