Secondary E-mail Account Password Change

Could someone from VM please PM me so I can get a secondary e-mail address password changed?

There seems to be no way to do it through the website.

Whilst waiting for a response from the VM Forum Team try following these instructions:

Each email address now has its own My VM account

Secondary accounts changes now have to be made via the My Virgin Media account for the secondary email.

Sign into the account here: https://www.virginmedia.com/my-virgin-media using the email address concerned and the current password. Once logged in click on Account Settings then Account details. You should now see the options to change password etc.

If that isn't available try https://www.virginmedia.com/my-virgin-media/forgotten-details/password

If no security answers have been set for the email address concerned then you will need to call in for support and select technical issues> email

Thanks for the reply but I've tried all that. It being a secondary e-mail means it just errors out.

Sorry to hear that you've not been able to change the password for the secondary email account. 

Can you advise what error message you're getting when you try to change the password?

I've managed to resolve this now, it seems this secondary e-mail address was under a completely different unrelated account to the main account. So I was able to reset the password for that and it reset the password for the secondary account.

As explained in message 2 each secondary account now has its own My Virgin Media account.

Good to read that you managed to reset the password.

Yes, but this secondary blueyonder account was attached to a completely unrelated e-mail address, that has nothing to do with the main VM account or any VM product past or present. I couldn't log into it on its own even knowing the password.

I assume it was some sort of migration thing done years ago.

Anyways its done now.

Is the email still attached to another broadband account?  If it isn't linked to any broadband account then it's an orphan and will be closed down sooner or later.

Thank you for the update. 

 

We are happy to hear this is resolved.

 

As mentioned however, if that email account isn't linked to a current live broadband account with us,  it can be closed at any time.

 

We therefore would recommend to move any important mails/documents so these won't be lost unexpectedly and to set up a third party email account if required.
