I am unable to send email form my blueyonder email address. Getting error message STMP417 sending mailbox blocked. I have reset my password and completed a virus check but still not working.

Not sure what else to try.

This error (actually it is SMTP417 😉) has come up on this forum quite a few times. People report they can receive emails in their Webmail account but not send them.

Sadly it does not seem to be something that you can resolve yourself.

That means the options are to try calling VM Customer Services (150 from a VM landline) or waiting until one of the Forum Team (VM employees who support this forum) contacts you via this thread. They will take your details by Private Message and raise this with the relevant VM IT Team to get it sorted for you.

I am assuming that you have a live VM Broadband account by the way, if you don't, then VM staff will be limited in the support they can provide.

You may well find that VM suggest that you reset your password but as you have discovered that does not help at all.

Thanks for your help. Yes, I have VM Broadband so will give them a call, was just trying to avoid this if I could!!

Hi ERS52

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community. Really sorry for the email issue. I can see from a system check everything should be fine - are you having issues with the mailbox via webmail, client mail or both?

best wishes,
