Returning Emails !

For quite sometime I have noticed that emails that I have deleted from the deleted folder return to the deleted folder,  sometimes hours or days later. Can anyone explain why.

Sorry to hear about this issue with deleted emails returning. Can we just confirm if this is happening via our webmail service or a clientmail service? (Such as Outlook or Applemail?)

Thanks for responding. I usually use the email client Thunderbird. I shall do some research and see if it's happening in webmail as well.
