Remote Content Not Loading

Kevan2022

I’m getting  a new issue since updating to iOS16.2. Many of my emails and some websites are unable to load properly. The solution I find works is to switch off wifi and the content loads correctly and quickly on 4G.

This seems to be a wifi / network configuration problem?

Any help appreciated

Does the issue persist if you disable Web Safe?

FYI: to turn Web Safe off  use the primary account holder's authentication credential here My Virgin Media | Virgin Media and then:

  • select Account Settings > Online security, then Virus Safe and Child Safe toggles to turn off
  • to confirm Web Safe is off try access a VPN site, for example https://www.expressvpn.com ; by default VPN site access is blocked by Web Safe

Good to read temporary solution of turning Web Safe off worked.

Incompatibility between Web Safe and recent Apple OS update has been flagged to the forum team.

Hi Kevan2022,

Thanks for your post and apologies to hear you were having issues with content loading within emails.

It's great that you've been able to find a work around for the meantime. I've raised this with the mods and we are looking into things now.

Once I have any updates, I'll be back in touch.

Many thanks,

I just want to jump in on this - I've been affected too...

However it's affected my iPhone XS (not upgraded to iOS 16.2) and my MacBook Pro - issues disappear when switching to 4G & tethering. Issues being: remote content in emails not loading, certain web pages not working, certain apps not working either.

I edit web pages on Squarespace for my job and all the images in the interface were blocked. As soon as I disable Child Safe suddenly I can see the websites as intended in the admin side.

Would be amazing to have this sorted asap. Thanks!
