I am not a Virgin Media employee but my understanding is that is not going to be possible.

  1. Virgin Media stopped issuing VM email accounts to new customers in May 2022 and existing customers can no longer create additional new email accounts. They still support existing VM email accounts but clearly they do not see the provision of email accounts as a key part of their customer package.
  2. In any event, VM should have deleted your old VM email account 90 days after you moved to another broadband provider. That was part of the Terms and Conditions. Once a VM email account has been deleted it cannot be resurrected.

I suspect that if you had a current VM broadband package and were moving house then you might well have been able to have any existing VM email accounts transferred over to your new VM broadband account. However, as it stands, you are effectively a new customer.

One of the Forum Team (VM employees who support this forum) will pick up your post in the next day or so and advise you what the official answer is.

Perhaps it's not for me to say but in any event you will be better off without a VM email account. If you need another email account go with Gmail, Outlook.com or one of the many other free email accounts that are around.

Thank you.

The only reason I ask is that my EA account is tied to it, and they want unlock it unless I can receive a email at that address.

Ok, the Forum Team are the only ones on here that can give you an answer on that.

If the account has not yet been deleted by VM they may be able to give you temporary access to get you over the immediate problem. However that's not the same as you being able to reclaim it for long term use.

Hi Dazzlaj,

Thank you for reaching out to us here on the Community.

We would like to do all we can to help but there is a high chance the email account may have been deactivated. If this is the case, I am afraid we will not be able to recover it.

To check this, I am going to pop you over a private message to confirm a few details and we can go from there.

Speak soon,

Nat
