Receiving duplicate emails

Any advice on where and how to stop getting two of every email?

How about providing more information

Are you using IMAP/POP3/Webmail?
If IMAP or POP3, what happens if you check webmail, are there two copies of the mail there as well?

Thanks very much. Previous advice looks to have worked. 

My phone gets them as imap and my computer gets them as pop.  Am told this is how it should be. I was getting 2 of every email on my computer and on the Virgin media but just one of each on my phone.

I followed the link - settings etc  I went into the filter.  It showed an autoforward to my email address.  So I deleted that.  It appears to have worked since I made that changes - at least for the last 30 minutes.  I have no idea how it got changed in the first place.

Good to read the duplication issue is resolved. With the unexplained auto forward consider following the advice given here Compromised Email Account advice to assure the security of your account.
