Re: can't send email - says IP blacklisted

I'm the same, but unable to find anyway to contact Virgin Media Abuse Desk. They also say that Ntlworld.com is no longer supported.

Did you get this sorted?

I've also been given a "Blacklist error" but cannot find how to get it removed

Who told you that?

Provided that you are a current Virgin Media broadband customer and the Ntlworld email address concerned is properly attached to your current account it should be fully supported by VM.

The VM Forum Team staff should be able to investigate further for you when they reach this thread in due course.

Hi.

I was on the telephone for ages with Virgin Media support.

At first they said that I just needed to change my password, which I did, but they said it would take 24hours to take effect...REALLY ?

But it didn't work after 24hours either, so I called them back.

After about 1 hour of trying to get it sorted the guy came back and said that NTLWORLD emails are no longer supported...

I asked why no one had let me know this, which they said emails had been sent to everyone, so whilst on the phone I went through all my emails, these are kept on their Server, and couldn't find 1 email.

I also told them that if I had been a business that relied on this Email address then I would be in a right mess because I cannot contact anyone.

Wasted my time with that one.

The person on the other end of the phone apparently knew nothing about the "Black List" below is the message I get when trying to send emails.

An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'test', Account: 'My Emails ', Server: 'smtp.ntlworld.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '421 csmtp2.tb.ukmail.iss.as9143.net cmsmtp Sorry your IP 86.xx.xxx.xxx is active in our local abuse blacklist. Contact Virgin Media abusedesk for delisting requests.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 421, Error Number: 0x800CCC67

So HOW DO WE CONTACT THE ABUSEDESK ?

Does anyone know?

I get this with every Email that I try to send.

An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'test', Account: 'My Emails ', Server: 'smtp.ntlworld.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '421 csmtp2.tb.ukmail.iss.as9143.net cmsmtp Sorry your IP 86.xx.xxx.xxx is active in our local abuse blacklist. Contact Virgin Media abusedesk for delisting requests.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 421, Error Number: 0x800CCC67

Apparently no one in the Help department will tell me how to get delisted, they just say NTLWORLD.com is no longer supported.

What email client are you using for email access?

It looks like you are using insecure email server settings, try using the settings noted below in your email client. These settings are recommended for all VM's email domains.

POP Access (Incoming)

  • Server Name: pop3.virginmedia.com
  • User Name: Your full email address
  • Connection Security: SSL/TLS
  • Authentication: Normal password
  • Port: 995

Or

IMAP Access (Incoming)

  • Server Name: imap.virginmedia.com
  • User Name: Your full email address
  • Connection Security: SSL/TLS
  • Authentication method: Normal password
  • Port: 993

Outgoing Server (SMTP)

  • Server Name: smtp.virginmedia.com
  • Connection security: SSL/TLS
  • Authentication method: Normal password
  • User Name: Your full email address
  • Port: 465

This may or may not help, but it's at least worth trying.

Hi Everyone.
I've found out how to get around not being able to send NTLWORLD emails controlled through Virgin Media Emails
What you have to do is actually log into your Email account via the Virgin Media Website and from there you can read or reply to NTLWORLD emails.
It also stores all Emails you have ever received, I had THOUSANDS, mostly junk though 🙂
