I am having the same problem. This morning it said change my email password and now I cant even get to the site to get that message. I can log into My virginmedia, but there I cant find anywhere on the new site that has email. As far as I was aware my Virginmedia account and email where the same passwords.

If you are presented with the new website format click on Update settings and then Account details to get to the password change options.
If the email account has been locked the password should still allow access to the My Virgin Media account in order to change the password.
