I only get option to delete the subsidiary account not change it.

@ERo6 That suggests that the email address concerned is a secondary account. Try signing into the secondary My Virgin Media account with the relevant email address and password. If you cannot get access to the password change area that way try https://www.virginmedia.com/my-virgin-media/forgotten-details/email

Tried that inputting dob & mother maiden name but it then says have to phone customer services to have this done!!
Last thing anyone wants to do & that took 40 minutes + …..

That probably indicates an issue with the account setup at VM's end. You may be fortunate to resolve this issue with a phone call.
If not the VM Forum Team may be able to help you when they reach this thread in a day or so.

They put in a new password and email works again.

Sorry to hear you were having issues with your email password.
Going forward it will be okay now.
But you can change it online
Just go to settings then Manage Account.
Or give us a shout on here if you don't fancy calling.
