The initial problem stemmed from a certificate for blueyonder email being out of date. This appears to have been resolved by replacing with an active cert. However this certificate is being rejected by Outlook. This also means that it is not possible to access emails on my phone as as my provider rejects access on security grounds..
On viewing the certificate it shows under the general and details tabs that it is valid from 19 Oct 2021 to 20 Nov 2022, but the certificate it points to under the path is valid from 28/07/20 to 18/03/29. This, to me, indicates that perhaps the problem is not solved as claimed! (I still can't find where it says what was done apart from "fixed") Please have another look as I need an answer so that I can set up my new PAYG service which virgin are closing.
