Re: Email Sync Errors +++ - Multiple threads. Please fix the issue, Virgin.

This issue is mot fixed.

The initial problem stemmed from a certificate for blueyonder email being out of date.  This appears to have been resolved by replacing with an active cert.  However this certificate is being rejected by Outlook. This also means that it is not possible to access emails on my phone as as my provider rejects access on security grounds..

On viewing the certificate it shows under the general and details tabs that it is valid from 19 Oct 2021 to 20 Nov 2022, but the certificate it points to under the path is valid from 28/07/20 to 18/03/29.  This, to me, indicates that perhaps the problem is not solved as claimed!  (I still can't find where it says what was done  apart from "fixed")  Please have another look as I need an answer so that I can set up my new PAYG service which virgin are closing.

Consider trying the recommended server settings shown below, i.e. ending virginmedia.com and not blueyonder.co.uk.

Account typeIMAP POP3
Usernamerichard.branson@virginmedia.com richard.branson@virginmedia.com
Server port993 995

Server hostimap.virginmedia.com pop3.virginmedia.com

Outgoing (SMTP)

Account typeSMTP
Usernamerichard.branson@virginmedia.com
Server port465
AuthenticationPassword
SSL/TLSYes
Server hostsmtp.virginmedia.com

Assuming you're looking at the certificate for imap.blueyonder.co.uk - There's nothing wrong with the certificate.

I've checked it and it's valid on my PC - the second certificate in the path is the issuing certificate - these tend to have long lives and it's in date as well.

@Martin_N

I've got the certificate file in question downloaded.

Here's what I see when I view the certificate details

And the next certificate in line that the OP refers to:

ravenstar68_1-1640604152262.png

Which links to the final root certificate on my PC

ravenstar68_2-1640604301558.png

The same certificate is used for all 3 blueyonder servers

imap.blueyonder.co.uk
pop3.blueyonder.co.uk
smtp.blueyonder.co.uk

And as far as I can tell there's nothing wrong with it.
