Problems with emails on mobile devices

I’m able to use my email on my Mac ok but on my iPhone and iPad it keeps telling me my password is incorrect. I’ve tried going into settings and entering what I think is the correct password but this doesn’t work. This happened to me a few years ago and I phoned virgin and got help, this is difficult to do at the moment especially as I no longer have a virgin landline. Is there anything I can do myself to fix this? 
 
Any help would be appreciated thanks

I’ve followed the steps on the link but no joy. The error message is “username or password incorrect”

Is there any way to reset the password?

Hi Steveliedown

 

Can you try removing the E-Mail address from the client on the effected devices and then reinstating the E-Mail account with the current password?

 

This can resolve this issue for you

Hi David I've tried that, to be honest I'm not 100% sure of the password. Nothing seems to be working, I altered something and my Mac isn't receiving emails now whereas it was before. IT not my strong point!

Ensure the account is sing the correct servers:
imap.virginmedia.com
SSL yes
Port 993
smtp.virginmedia.com
SSL yes
Port 465

There’s also problems appearing for some iDevice users where the keyboard is autocapitalising letters when moving the cursor back or when typing normally, ensure this isn’t the problem in your case.

Thanks but I've tried all that, it just keeps saying "username or password incorrect"
Is there any way I can reset the password?

Can you log in to webmail with the same credentials? If so then I doubt changing the password would work.
There seems to be a influx of users with this same problem.
