Problems with Authentication Denied (VM304)

I have been trying to set up an addtional mailbox on my account but I am getting the following error

Problems with Authentication Denied (VM304)

Trying to access the account vis webmail give me this message

Your mailbox is not available at the moment.

I would be grateful if someone could let me know what I need to do to unblock this problem

There have been a number of posts recently about issues with creating secondary accounts.  It would appear that yours has not been created properly at the VM end.  The Forum Team will be along to help in a day or so.

Yes I can log into my VM account.

I setup email addresses for my members of my family many years ago and I am now trying to enter the SMTP details in my new email program for one of the family. The error is the response I get back when trying to setup that email program.

It is a different client to those listed although I have indeed tried the setting given. I will try again

If you created the account some years ago you may need to change the password to get it working via an email client.  Have you tried that?

Sign in to My Virgin Media, go to My Profile and/or Manage Accounts depending on whether the account concerned is your primary account or an additional one. Select the account concerned and then click on Change to the right of password if a primary account or View/Change then change to the right of password for secondary accounts.
