Problems signing in & new password required

I appreciate members are having problems receiving e mails, but until a couple of hours ago mine were still being delivered.

When i log on to my Mail account I now get a pop up box asking me to confirm my password - which I cannot remember.  

I have tried to log in directly on Virginmedia website to pick up my mail but it is telling me that my account is "locked" and i need to create a new password.

Has anyone else had this happen.

Hi nephrititi, thanks for reaching out on the help forums and welcome back to the VM community.

Sorry to hear of the email login and password issues, can you please check if changing the password for this email enables you to access the account and your mailbox?

Also, please use our link here to make sure you got the email settings correct.
Do let us know if this helps, please note you need to go to the email sign in page and select ''forgot password'' in order to create a new one - it is important that the new password is secure and has never been used before on this email account.

We'll be hear to assist further so tell us how things go.

I'm actually going to hold fire for the moment with regards setting a new password as I posted the same question (as above) on a FB forum and a member responded that they had the same issues but weren't able to set a new password and the whole thing rectified itself after a couple of days.

Thankfully the problems I encountered a week ago have now been resolved. 
Admin would not discuss the issues with me by pm as the account is in my husbands name (despite discussing previous issues over the years with me as he had given them his authority)  so he joined  this group.
Admin tried to reset VM password but this made no difference. 
My husband reset the VM password then reset VM app password. 
I then applied the latter to my 3 Apple devices and could then send and receive from all 3, plus received over 200 e mails that hadn’t come through during the week I had problems. 
I could also log onto Webmail to view my e mails.
