Pop Up keeps asking for my password but does not accept it. and I can not send emails out

I have an ntlworld account.  A pop up that says -   server - smtp.ntlworld.com, user name (my email address), and then password.  I keep putting my password but it does not accept it and keeps showing up and as a result, I am not able to send out emails though I can receive them..

Can anyone help me with this, please?

Thanks.

Re: Pop Up keeps asking for my password but does not accept it. and I can not send emails out

What email program / operating system are you using?

If you are using Windows 10 can you type cmd into the search bar and then type in the following line:

curl -v smtps://smtp.virginmedia.com -u username:password 2>&1 | findstr "235 VM"

Note:

Make sure you change username to your full email address and password to your password.
The character before the findstr command is the pipe character | which on a UK keyboard can be found near the left Shift key,

You should end up with a line similar to this:

< 535 5.7.8 Authentication Credentials Invalid (VM300)

Tim
