Outlook safe links not loading on virgin media

Quite a simple issue

On my virgin media - safe links don't load e.g. if I click on an email with an embedded link in outlook

It doesn't load - no error's in console just comes up with page could not be found/time out

Hotspot on my phone and it works

Checked to see if my asus router has any vpn and it does not, has anyone else found this/knows how to diagnose the issue

Re: Outlook safe links not loading on virgin media

It is always risky clicking e mail links but it sounds like the issue is with the outlook security settings disabling the functionality. Have you tried copying and pasting the link into your browser to see if they work as a test.

Re: Outlook safe links not loading on virgin media

Yeah I have tried copying and pasting it but the way that safe links works is that it still copies the original safelink, its waiting on the safelink server to redirect the URL which is being blocked.

Re: Outlook safe links not loading on virgin media

Open a Command Shell and type the following commands where example.com is replaced with the domain of the safelink server:

nslookup example.com
nslookup example.com 9.9.9.9

If the resulting IP Addresses returned are different can you post the former, for example:

# nslookup rennejewellery.co.uk
Server: 192.168.0.1
Address:	192.168.0.1#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:	rennejewellery.co.uk
Address: 81.99.162.48
Name:	rennejewellery.co.uk
Address: 2a02:8801:200:1::1

# nslookup rennejewellery.co.uk 9.9.9.9
Server: 9.9.9.9
Address:	9.9.9.9#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:	rennejewellery.co.uk
Address: 194.39.165.96

then post 81.99.162.48

Re: Outlook safe links not loading on virgin media

Has anyone else ever seen this? If I run a traceroute to eur05.safelinks.protection.outlook.com I get a response from msn.net - can't figure this out and its doing my head in.

Re: Outlook safe links not loading on virgin media

Hi @Hayley_S

That has not worked - its not a browser issue - all my devices have the same issue. But all my devices work when I hotspot off my phone.

Seems to be linked soley to the ISP, I have tried using 2 different routers and same issue so can't be hardware. Must be either modem or ISP related.

Thanks

Nik
