I have just had a whole folder and all the e-mails inside it vanish!
I used Outlook 365 IMAP rather than POP for my Virginmedia mail.
I created a folder for a trip i have planned and copied all the emails into it using Outlook 365.
After a few minutes I needed to check a mail so I navigated to the holiday subfolder, but it wasn't there anymore. I have not deleted it, or any of the emails. My wife who was sat with me confirmed to me that I wasn't going mad, I'd not deleted it. There was no warning messages, no pop up saying "Are you sure you want to delete this folder". Nothing, It just vanished.
I went to the Virgin Media server and all the mails I'd copied into the folder have vanished from there too - I'm not sure if the folder had created as I didn't check the web. I can only guess the mails on the Virgin server have gone because I have IMAP rather than POP3.
Can anyone shed any light onto this very strange happening? If you've heard of this type of thing, what was the cause and is there any way to recover the missing folder?
