Outlook Security Certificate issue

Hi,

In the last three days I have been receiving this warning when I connect to the mail server (Using Outlook 2007, @virginmedia.com domain, AVG subscription)

Click on Yes and it connects fine.

Click on View and you get this strange pop-up......any ideas?

Thanks and regards.

Re: Outlook Security Certificate issue

Same here! virginmedia.com is most expensive ISP but using outdated certificate for email client which warns: 'The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that cannot be verified' – when are they going to renew the certificate?

Re: Outdated security certificate

that is not VM certificate. that's ESET that's your anti-virus screwing with it.

Re: Outdated security certificate

No! This is nothing to do with ESET. It just says ESET in that screen shot as ESET is scanning the certificate.
This was confirm by turning of SSL in ESET- Setup - advanced setup - Web and email -   ssl/tls - untick "Enable SSL/TLS Protocol filtering" - press ok = close and reopen outlook - the same error though no longer reference ESET. Virginmedia.com security certificate is outdated - simple!!

Re: Outdated security certificate

Whatever the issue is it is not the certificates validity dates (1/10/2020 to 2/11/2021). Can you save the certificate and post its text here; make sure to select ••• from the format bar, then </>, so the pasted certificate text is verbatim.

Re: Outdated security certificate

then why is ESET changing the certificate.

Disable ESET and post a screen shot of the real certificate the site gives you.

It shouldn't be one form ESET
