Re: Old ntl email address

It depends on a number of factors.

Are you still a Virgin Media broadband customer?

Is the address concerned linked to your current account?

How long is it since you last accessed the email address?

Does it show as red or green when you test the email address at mailtester.com.

Re: Old ntl email address

Hi,

I no longer live at the address I had this and can not get virgin in my current address. I had access to this until October/ November last year via mobile phone but lost access when I changed my phone. Email is still showing as active on mailttester.com

Re: Old ntl email address

Ok, that's not so good.

The email account should have been completely deleted 90 days after you ceased to be a customer.  However a lot continue for longer.

The fact that mailtester shows the mailbox exists means the deletion process has not completed.

Unfortunately, the only assistance that Virgin Media will offer in such circumstances is to ensure the address is fully deleted.  They will not be able to regain access for you.

Re: Old ntl email address

Not sure if this makes any difference but my wife also has an email that was linked to this and that is still active. So mine was the main  account and this was a sub account. Is there no way I could get access temporarily, I need to reset a password that has this address linked to it?

Re: Old ntl email address

Your only hope is if you can get through the forgotten password system.  See here:

virgin-media-reset-username-and-password

Your wife should take immediate steps to backup her emails before access to the secondary account stops as well.

Re: Old ntl email address

@DerrickVMTech  That URL resolves to the main sso sign in page for virgin media accounts.  If the account concerned is locked or in the process of deletion it will not help.

Re: Old ntl email address

You will find it should work

I've dealt with these issues for the last 10 years in the call centre it could be quite possible for it to be locked

If this the case then there is a reason behind it being locked
