Hi @aberkenfigbees,

Thank you for your post and welcome to our community forums. We're here to help.

I'm so sorry to hear that it seems your email address/account may have been compromised. Are you able to edit/update the password to the email account via our website?

Thanks,

No I can't access it at all. We moved last July and you were not able to supply to our new address. I've been using the NTLWORLD one via Outlook. But can't access it the usual way.

@aberkenfigbees When you left Virgin Media you should have been informed that any associated email accounts would be deleted after 90 days as per the VM T&Cs.

The reason for you now not being able to access the account is likely to be because the deletion process is underway.

The scam email that you have received is a very common one.  In the vast majority of cases they are completely speculative and the miscreant does not have the access they claim.

@Zach_R should be able to arrange for your NTLWORLD email account to be completely deleted from the VM systems for you.

Thanks Graham,

I was actually told it would be 6 months after I left.

In fact it has been 10 months now!

I thought I would just ignore the scam but it appears that they are using the email to register with various businesses and also they seem to have changed my details on my Microsoft account which is more worrying.

My apologies that you have been affected by this scammer @aberkenfigbees

I can request that the email get deleted completely for you. Please join me on private message so I can take the email information. You can see your private messages at the top of the page, in the envelope icon or if you're using a smaller device, you can see your private messages by clicking on the Virgin Media logo at the top right and select 'Messages' from the drop down.

My email now seems to have stopped working. If it has been deleted please reinstate it as I have still not been able to get Microsoft to sort out the problem. I may need access to this one if they try to verify me.

Hi @aberkenfigbees

I will pop you a PM 📩 to look into this further.

Cheers
