Ntlworld Outlook Locked Out

bbirtwell
Joining in

On Monday I was asked to sign in to ntlworld by Outlook, I tried to do this multiple times unsuccessfully. This was strange because I had been logged in.

Research led me to the account settings on MyVirginMedia and instructions to provide a non Virgin email address where a link would be provided to verify the email account. Due to work there was a delay in checking the email. When I accessed the email and clicked on the link, I received a link expired message and instructions to provide the email again in the account settings and a new email will be sent to verify the email address. When I go to do this I get a message which states that I recently requested a change to the email and instructions to click on the link which had been sent to me before requesting another change.

Why does the email have an expiry limit but the facility to change the email does not.

I am now stuck in a loop with no way out.

Please provide advice on how to get this sorted.

Many thanks

Brian

A workaround for this issue is to:

  • submit a different Sign in Email Address
For example, test@example.com —in this case there is no server running for the message to be delivered to, i.e. mail delivery fails and is returned to sender.
  • resubmit the original Sign in Email Address and this time keep the page open until you receive the verification link email
