NTL email account

Hello, hoping someone can help!

I was with NTL before Virgin Media. I've not had any access to my emails for several years. Finally, I managed to access my account.
Received the following error message:

I have spoken to Virgin they assured me they could restore my emails. I have since received a bill from them but nothing else. No old emails, addresses etc. Now no one at Virgin seems to understand that I need my old emails restored.

How do I get hold of 2nd line support folk? I'm going around and around in circles.

Many thanks

Re: NTL email account

Concerning the restoration of emails, as far as I know, if emails are not found within your mailbox on the server then they are unrecoverable, i.e. Virgin Media do not keep backups so have nothing to restore for individual mailboxes. To check the content of your mailbox either sign into webmail or use an email client configured to use  IMAP and SMTP.

FYI: be aware that mid-2015 Google terminated their email service for ISP resulting in those emails appearing under [Gmail] folder. Should you not see this folder in webmail then try the following:

  1. select ≡ > Settings > ▸ Email
  2. select until all folders views are expanded
  3. confirm all folders are selected ()
  4. select Save
  5. select Email located top left and then Ctrl + Shift + R

If [Gamil] folder was not found in step 3 then no emails before mid-2015 are present in the mailbox.
