The problems you are having with your email accounts may arise from the email account being hacked hack, but equally they could be down to a number of other causes.
Before jumping in and offering advice it would be really helpful to know the answers to these two questions:
1) Exactly what is the error message you are getting? A supplementary question to that is whether you are seeing that error when you use Virgin Media's forgotten password link https://my.virginmedia.com/forgot-details/password or a different VM link? (If you have not tried that link I would suggest giving it a go and posting back with the results.)
2) Do you have a broadband account with Virgin Media and were these problematic ntlworld email accounts set up as part of that VM account or an earlier one? (For example, you may have been with VM and then switched to another broadband provider for a while but carried on using the original ntlworld email accounts.)
Post that info here - but don't post the actual email address or any other specific account details.
