If ever there was a reason not to use an ISP provided "added value" email service, the proliferation of multiple Virgin Media customers receiving a "Mailbox Unavailable - please wait one hour and try again" when trying to access their email account is surely reason enough.
It's become obvious that waiting an hour and trying again makes no difference whatsoever. It takes an actual intervention from VM's support teams to restore access, something which in some cases takes weeks.
Please take the opportunity to open an ISP independent email account, one which is fully supported, and migrate to that instead.
By doing so you will not have to worry about losing your email address if you move to a different ISP. You will also get decent security, better spam filtering and a fully supported email service. All things which VM seem to currently be incapable of providing.
