Mail (NOT) forwarding.

Hi, My 2 ntlworld accounts now seem stable ( touch wood) and accessable logging in via the Web. I was told to login seperately to access them and it seems to work. However...

I have 2 issues 1. Constant messages popping up regarding imap & details being incorrect and 2. My emails are not forwarding all the time, but seems to occasionally.

Q. Where do I access Imap details to check and/or correct them. (Or is the popup related to the other email which I am not logged into and which shows in a drop down menu? And can this be corrected)

Q. Are my email forwarding issues due to the imap problems or is there an obvious fix?

Don't know if Virgins email app would be too risky or possible to use but my technical limitations inspire nightmares just thinking about sorting that out. 😅

  • Hi. Cannot figure out a screenshot on this phone but the popup text that occurs when I login to the email account is...

Error

The provided login data to access e-mail server imap.ntlworld.com seems to be wrong. Please correct them

Also I get 'Auto forwarding is active' messages when I login. When checking this to confirm, I have used the apply changes button and closed the window for no reason other than to confirm the setting.
More info - the notification for your reply and some others were forwarded.  At least 2 emails  from last week were not forwarded - one from Microsoft and one fom my local council... I am telling you that to illustrate the apparently random nature of the problem.

At one time I could access both my ntlworld emails on the same page via the dropdown link to the other email. Now that link displays a triangular warning ⚠️  and the inbox is described as empty ..? It is clearly not empty when I access it directly by logging in separately with the corresponding password.
I do feel that less emails are arriving than usual.  But perhaps my antisocial attitude is influencing that.. lol.

Note.. my account was hacked over a year ago. Virgin wiped all nefarious changes and I setup new passwords. Can I assume there us no reason to think some backdoor was left open?
BTW I use a vpn all the time.

That's all I've got at the moment. Unless there is any detail you can help me add to the pile?

Can you post a redacted screenshot of the issue?

Issue is unlikely to be due to IMAP issue if messages are still being delivered to account's mailbox.

Are the emails that fail to be forwarded arriving in your account's Inbox?
