does anyone have any update on this be email send issue form Mac and iPhone using smtp gateway. Appears to change my email authentication address and therefore the account will be authenticated ie: name@virgin,net to firstname.lastname@example.org. I have rung Virgin and got told it wasn’t known and engineers were working on it - that was 4 weeks ago and I still can’t send emails. Any update would be appreciated.
Seems similar to this issue Re: Emails not sending from mobiles in that the username shown in settings is not the same as that sent to the server. As suggested there try re-keying in every field's data for the outgoing mail server.
