Ipad password not updating

Have changed my virgin media password this am. updated the password on android phone and all working ok there. Similarly, virgin tv go app ok and working on web browser sign in, but ipad does not seem to accept the update to the password. i update under the email accounts section ok but when i try to send or receive emails i get a message saying xxxx(my sign in name)@smtp.blueyonder.co.uk is incorrect. Help pls. Wasted a whole morning so far on this.

If you are using an email app on the ipad then having changed the My VM password you now need to generate an app password to use with third party email apps as follows:

VM have recently changed the log in requirements for accessing VM Mail via third party apps.

If you change the password for the account in My Virgin Media > Account settings > Account details you will not be able to use the new password to access the account via an email client. Email client access now requires an app specific password which can be generated in the MyVM > Account Settings > Account details > Mailbox App password management
