Hi there.
It seems my IP is on the Spamhaus ZEN blacklist. What's the best and quickest way to get this fixed so i can send emails.
I work from home and it's a PITA when my work emails keep bouncing.. I've tried getting on to my host but they don't seem especially helpful.. they say they've made some tweaks and fixed it but that only seems temporary.. I'm wondering if there's anything virgin media can do from their end?
If i reboot my virgin hub (being used as a modem) would this help.. or should i reboot the zenwifi router instead? I'm not sure if it's the modem or the router that get's the IP address but hoping a reboot would get a different (hopefully non blacklisted) IP ?
Many thanks,
Phill

Establish the IP address that is being blocked and then discover what has the IP address.
E.g. is it the IP address of the SMTP server sending the emails or is it the Public IP address of VM Hub in modem mode.
Until you know exactly what is being blocked your at risk of fighting the wrong fire.

Hey phoxy, thank you for reaching out and a warm welcome to the community I am sorry you are having some email issues.
I would try and use our equipment without any 3rd party kit because we can't guarantee this will work and when it does it may not 100%.
Did any of the advice above help at all? Thanks

hi, thanks for replying. sadly your kit doesn't have very good wifi signal strength, so i have to use another wifi router to cover my house.
can you let me know how to identify if a spam listed ip address is a virgin one and if so, how to get it off the list so i can send the problem emails again?
it tends to be microsoft related domains, hotmail.com, live.com, msn etc.. gmail are always ok, as are proper domains (company own domain names) it's only when sending to microsoft emails i have a problem.
many thanks. 🙂

If you have the blocked IP try it in ... https://dnschecker.org/ip-whois-lookup.php

Spamhaus Zen list encapsulates other Spamhaus lists: SBL, CSS, XBL, PBL. Which list or lists is your public IP Address on? Ignore appearance on PBL as that is expected and follow the advise provided for other lists on resolving appearance in them.

thank you. i've ascertained it is indeed on a PBL list only.. so i'm looking into my mail server settings.. specifically the port as apple mail is set to manage automatically and i think it uses port 25 (which spamhaus says not to) so i'm testing with port 465 to see if that sorts it.
