In 2019 my email account was made inaccessible to me by Virgin. I think they wanted to do away with the old virgin.net accounts. My wife's was also taken from her. We were annoyed by this and had to go through the business of creating new email addresses and letting everyone know, etc. Anyway, we assumed that our old addresses would be dead, meaning that emails sent to them would ping back to the sender. This was the case with my wife's address, but not mine. I am unable to access the account online, but it is apparent that emails are still being sent there, and I don't like that I can't reply. Occasionally colleagues as me why I haven't replied to their emails, and it turns out they'd sent it to the virgin.net address. Annoying and costly for me, as I've missed out on paid work.
Anyway, is there a way the address can be rendered inactive/dead without me being able to sign in? I haven't been able to get into it for a long time, and the relevant email webpage says to 'try again later', and has been saying that for over a year now!
I'd be grateful for any advice.

Hi Lodekka, thanks for the message and this usually happens with inactive accounts as the email will only work with an active service. We will be able to purge this for you by means of raising an IT ticket. I will send you a private message so that this can be looked into further. Chris .

Hi I also have the same issue Ive had the Virgin.net email address for over 20 years, and I cant log in any more, I still get emails forwarded but everytime I try and log into the Virgin Site or try to access it I get page can not be displayed, I think the account may have been compromised as well, Can someone please message me to get this account either deleted or tell me how I can log into it, thanks
