Hi - I've just got access to my virgin.net account after it was de-activated and now need to archive all the emails on a separate hard drive so I can't lose them again.

Please could anyone explain how I can do this?

In baby steps - I'm rubbish at tech....

THank you

For archiving past emails just for storage/record purposes, see if this past topic from the forum archive helps you any

The topic is a few years old so screenshots etc. may possibly vary from the current version of the software.

After your virgin.net email account was closed, apparently without warning:
https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Email/Virgin-net-email-de-activated-without-warning/m-p/4867853
(even though this appears to be in direct contradiction to an archive post here where you appear to be well aware of the closure:
https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Forum-Archive/virgin-net-is-closing-how-do-i-archive-my-current...),
have you managed to back up your emails using the suggested or a different resolution, or do you still require assistance?

I'm only asking as any successful resolution may assist others experiencing the same situation.

(I'm also not comfortable with having contributed to posts while under any sort of false impressions. Entirely my own fault for not investigating historical posts properly.)

Hi Solobo -

As you'll see the old post was 6 years ago. After that I called Virgin and was assured that no action would be taken to close the account while it was still active. And indeed, it wasn't.

For the past 6 years I've continued to use the account as promised, until this latest issue.

So not trying to be misleading at all.
